My Current Work
When it comes to performing and writing music, I believe in bringing as much energy and spirit into it as possible. You don't have to be a guitarist to appreciate this style of music. All of my work is open to anyone who wants to be moved emotionally by music.
My first EP release No Pressure (2017) was written during my final year at university. Recording this EP provided me with a chance to share my favourite tracks and perform with some of my closest friends at the end of my degree. The sarcastic title of the EP refers to the speedy circumstances of the recording session. James Armstrong, who recorded me as part of his coursework, asked me to assemble a bunch of tracks to be recorded in one session. This became the entirety of the A-side of the EP.
Since its release, I've been writing lots of new material in preparation for a full-length album release. This will contain lots of new compositions that branch out beyond the traditional "solo acoustic guitar" realm of possibility. I will be welcoming back some friends who performed in No Pressure as well as including new instruments and songs into the mix. After some intensive soul-searching and learning on the job, the album is nearly complete and is expected to be released in 2021.
My YouTube channel contains many more performances and compositions, many of which will likely not feature on any album release in the future. I also specialise in teaching percussive acoustic guitar both in-person and online. You can find me on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and Soundcloud.
