Laying down some tracks during a live session.
Recently, I teamed up with the guys at Make Noise Studios to produce two new music videos.
It's been a while since my last visit to 'Practice Sheffield' and it was nice to see this rehearsal space being used as a studio. The team have done an excellent job with recording the video and have been happy to keep editing it to perfection.
Making an official singing debut.
After doing lots of singing at gigs, it felt time to bring it to the small screen. It's been a nervous and exciting experience recording some of these songs for the first time. One that I'm eager to share when it's finished.
The two songs that we recorded are original covers taken from my previous live sets. First is an upbeat rendition of I'm A Believer, originally recorded by The Monkees. A song that I came to know and love from the movie Shrek.
The second cover is Wonderwall by Oasis (I hear you sighing, guitarists). Because every guitarist at some point in their life will be asked to play Wonderwall, I decided to completely rewrite the piece to make it more guitar-heavy and enjoyable to perform.
No shortage of percussive guitar solos in these covers.
The videos are currently going through some final adjustments, hoping to be released in the next week or two. Also behind the scenes, progress is being made to release a 4-track EP in the coming months, featuring more original content.
One final shout-out to the guys at Make Noise Studios who've done a great job so far. Click here to visit their website.
