My Current Work
When it comes to performing and writing music, I believe in bringing as much energy and spirit into it as possible. You don't have to be a guitarist to appreciate this style of music. All of my work is open to anyone who wants to be moved emotionally by music.
My first EP release No Pressure (2017) was written during my final year at university. Recording this EP provided me with a chance to share my favourite tracks and perform with some of my closest friends at the end of my degree. The sarcastic title of the EP refers to the speedy circumstances of the recording session. James Armstrong, who recorded me as part of his coursework, asked me to assemble a bunch of tracks to be recorded in one session. This became the entirety of the A-side of the EP.
Since its release, I've been writing lots of new material in preparation for a full-length album release. This will contain lots of new compositions that branch out beyond the traditional "solo acoustic guitar" realm of possibility. I will be welcoming back some friends who performed in No Pressure as well as including new instruments and songs into the mix. I will be aiming to release the album in late 2018 to early 2019.
